Skillbuild Northern Ireland is a not for profit organisation.
Our origins lie in the construction craft competitions which started in Northern Ireland in the mid 1980’s.
We hold the UK Skills National Seal of Approval for our competitions.
The Skillbuild Northern Ireland Competition is hosted annually each spring. The competition involves twelve crafts from the Construction Industry and is the largest multi-trade competition for young students and apprentices aged 21 and under in the country.
We are keen to develop our competition structure within Northern Ireland on a localised basis to generate even greater involvement.
Our gold medal winners go forward to the UK National Finals where success can lead to a place with the UK Skills team to compete at the bi-annual WorldSkills competition.
Skillbuild Northern Ireland is proud to work in partnership with employers, commerce, education and government to provide the ideal showcase competition environment for our talented constructors of the future.
Our craft skills competitions enable trainers and apprentices to benchmark skills achievement, and develop awareness of and promoting respect for skills excellence.
We recognise how important it is to forge partnerships with all stakeholders to share expertise and resources to foster and develop a culture of excellence for our young apprentices who will play a key role in the future economic growth of Northern Ireland.
