Congratulations to Philip Green, Stuart Millar & Ian McMahon - on their way to WorldSkills London 2011!
It has just been announced that three out of seven Northern Ireland National Finalists have been selected to go forward to compete at WorldSkills London 2011! What an achievement this is for these three lads, who thoroughly deserve this success after numerous competitions and training events!
The finalists are Philip Green, Bricklaying from Belfast Metropolitan College, Alan Stewart lecturer; Stuart Millar, Refrigeration from South Eastern Regional College, Terry Nickels lecturer and Ian McMahon, Wall & Floor Tiling from North West Regional College, David McCay lecturer.
Stuart Millar, our Refrigeration apprentice has received an added bonus as a result of his success, as he embarks on a journey to Australia on 2nd July to take part in a Global Skills Challenge in Wollongong Australia! Good luck with that Stuart and please dont get too used to the weather as we need you back home again for October!
Well done again and the very best of luck in October this year at WorldSkills London 2011.

This photo of Philip was taken during his training in Belfast Metropolitian College and was subsequently used at WorldSkills London 2011blown up very large to promote City and Guilds! Maybe if the bricklaying doesnt work out for Philip he could take on a spot of modelling work!!
